Meet the team
Claire Firth – Dance Studio Owner (A.IDTA)
Miss Claire’s love of dance started at an early age where she trained at a respected dance school in the South of England in both theatre and ballroom styles and taking her dance exams. Miss Claire had the privilege of being taught by the IDTA president and the current director of dance whilst training at his dance school.
She went onto compete for many years on behalf of his dance school in regional and national competitions and festivals across the country. Miss Claire has also competed at the National Disco and Freestyle Finals at the famous Winter Gardens in Blackpool. She even had the opportunity to perform for Len Goodman! As well as taking to the stage in many local pantomimes including Oliver and Bugsy Malone.
Miss Claire gained her teaching qualification with the IDTA passing with Honours and has continued her knowledge within the dance and fitness industry with qualifications in Fitness Pilates, Ballet Barre, UKCA British Cheerleading and Zumba.
Miss Claire also holds Registered Qualified Teacher status with the British Ballet Organisation and Associate Board of Dance. After leaving college where she studied Business & Economics, Miss Claire went to work on the trading floors of Investment Banking in London, South Africa and New York for nearly 15 years before moving to Lincolnshire.
Whilst on maternity leave to have her daughter Amelia, she started work on creating the concept of Passion2Dance alongside her mum (who used to work at the studio until her retirement). Her aim was to create a family friendly dance studio with superb facilities and providing excellent dance training to children and young adults.
Miss Claire continues to manage the dance academy from the business and marketing side including gaining the studio its CDMT recognition – the leading standard in providing dance and musical theatre training. She continues to work in providing performance opportunities for the children including taking a team to Disneyland Paris, The Lincolnshire Show and many other events and performances. Recently she has gained approval for the dance school to become casting agents providing even more opportunities for pupils.
Rachel Almand – Dance Teacher
Miss Rachel discovered her love for the performing arts at the age of 3. Miss Rachel studied all styles of dance including ballet, pointe, tap, acro, modern, lyrical and disco which lead to her completing her BTDA dance examinations up to a diploma level. During Miss Rachel’s time at her dance school she entered many festivals, competitions and performed in her local pantomimes. Then at 12 years old she successful auditioned to perform in a professional performance of the Wizard of Oz.
Alongside her love of dance Miss Rachel attended a speech and drama school where she gained her LAMDA qualifications in acting. From a young age Miss Rachel assisted and then taught the younger students at her dance school for several years, this is when she knew she also loved to teach dance and drama. At 16, she decided to attend Leicester college of Performing Arts to train in Musical theatre and become a professional dancer.
After 3 years and qualifying with a National Trinity Diploma in Dance and Musical theatre she then travelled to Cyprus and performed in several cabaret shows. Although she loved to perform she was excited to settle down and pursue her career in teaching the arts. Miss Rachel then went on to successfully complete a BA honours degree in Drama at Bishop Grosseteste University. During this time she taught drama and dance at several primary schools, performed at Edinburgh fringe festival and worked alongside the charity Barnardos offering drama sessions for young and vulnerable children.
Miss Rachel has successfully put pupils through exams, with 100% pass rate, choreographed for the annual Summer show, competitions and events. Miss Rachel also choreographed our successful audition piece for Disney Land Paris and our teams final performance.
Miss Rachel has been at Passion2Dance for 6 years! She has loved every minute of teaching at the school. She hopes to continue her teaching journey with Passion2dance for many more years to come.
Jessica Shore – Dance Studio Manager and Teacher (A.IDTA)
Miss Jess didn’t actually begin dancing until she was 13 years old. She never expected anything to come of it as she was surrounded by fellow dancers who began at an early age, however, it wasn’t long before everyone realised she had a natural talent!
After Miss Jess left school, she had planned to become a lawyer! Studying A-levels in Law, Mathematics, English and of course… Dance!! She soon realised that her passion for dancing was greater than anything else, however, lacking confidence due to being a ‘late starter’, she had to be encouraged to audition for college to complete a full time BTEC Extended National Diploma in Dance which, much to her surprise, was successful for!
Miss Jess has performed in pantomimes, dance shows and even did work experience at the prestigious Pineapple Dance Studios, Covent Garden, London.
She also worked professionally in the industry, working alongside the likes of Example, Taboo, AFISHAL and performing for events companies across the country. She even filmed a music video in Ibiza! But while working professionally, she also volunteered teaching dance to under privileged children and young adults, which is where her passion for teaching grew.
Miss Jess went on to successfully complete her Associate with the International Dance Teachers Association, gaining a distinction! She also has her teaching qualifications in Progressing Ballet Technique, Associate Board of Dance and AcroTrix.
Miss Jess has successfully put pupils through exams, with 100% pass rate, choreographed for the annual Summer show, competitions and events. Miss Jess also choreographed our successful audition piece for Disney Land Paris and our teams final performance. She was even scouted on our school Disney trip to become a Disney Princess!
Miss Jess has been at Passion2Dance since day one! She has grown with the business and as well as teaching, is now studio manager. She has loved teaching and watching the pupils grow, beginning in our Little Cherubs class, holding their Mummy’s hand, into the talented individuals they are today!

She is looking forward to sharing knowledge and skills about what she’s learnt.
